Competitive Salary:

Undergraduate: $18.55/hour
Graduate: $20.81/hour

Eligibility Requirements:

Each opportunity has unique requirements, but all interested candidates must be:
-- a US Citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
-- 18 years of age or older
-- Currently attending a New York State college, university, or graduate program or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
-- a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year College or University (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students for participation in the Student Intern Program); or a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
-- have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
-- Preferred degree enrollment and/or skills outlined within the individual opportunities

Duties Description:

-- Enter change requests for scheduled maintenance, records management and server decommissioning using the NYS IT Service Management System

-- Maintain a positive report with DCH staff, vendors and contractors, and various other NYS ITS internal customers

-- Analyze output from custom IT Service Management reports and compare to actual server inventory

-- Generate ad-hoc reports in MS Excel and MS Office

-- Monitor Linux servers for performance and availability

-- Under the supervision of DCH Linux personnel, perform minor routine maintenance on RHEL servers and update VMware tools

 

Skills:

Familiarity w/Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Experience with Linux Distrib. a plus

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

Familiarity with Programming a plus
