Proposal Information

Description:

BASIS FUNCTION:
The Real Estate Intern will provide planning, research and analytical support to ESD's Real Estate Development in order to enhance ESD's urban planning, real estate development and real estate transaction efforts.

WORK PERFORMED:

* RESEARCH:
o Compile information on properties in ESD's real estate portfolio
o Perform due diligence and research related to development companies, urban planning efforts and real estate development projects.
o Research other topics in real estate and economic development as needed.

* ANALYZE:
o Perform analyses to support the master planning, urban design, and development of specific real estate parcels and areas, including analyses related to property values, rents, taxes, environmental and historic features, re-uses, zoning, etc.
o Evaluate real estate opportunities for the agency.

* COMMUNICATE:
o Develop presentations, policy memoranda, procurement documents and various other communications with respect to real estate and economic development.
o Prepare development recommendations on specific ESD real estate projects with respect to use, zoning, feasibility, bulk, or other considerations.

Education Required:
* Current graduate-level coursework in urban planning, design, architecture, real estate, public policy or similar field in progress..

Knowledge Required:
* Knowledge of economic development, real estate development, public policy, urban planning and design, and/or other related fields.
