Description:

The New York State Department of Financial Services is seeking candidates for Actuarial Intern (Life Bureau) positions in its Albany office.

Under the direct supervision of a Principal or Senior Actuary, a student intern would:
* Acquire actuarial experience related to Life, Annuity and Accident & Health

* Assist in the review of various annual filings as required by New York State laws and regulations

* Assist in the review of formula reserves for various products for compliance with New York State minimum statutory reserve requirements

* Perform various tasks related to actuarial opinions and memorandums

* Assist in special projects as needed
NYS Intern Program Eligibility:

* Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program OR be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
* Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students for participation in the Student Intern Program) OR be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
* Have a minimum of 12 credits of mathematics or statistics
* Have a GPA of at least 3.0
