Description:
Work Assignments: Most work will consist of using agency computers and operating ArcMap, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office software along with associated programs for publication or dissemination. Primary datasets will include state wildfire data, wildfire fuels, general geographic data and governmental/agency boundary layers. Intern is expected to analyze data for agency goals and develop improved means of graphically representing datasets. Some work assignments will be related to general all-risk emergency management and may involve working at an incident command post. Some work will include working with other agency programs to support agency emergency management preparedness.

Candidates enrolled in an advanced certificate or master's degree is GIS program are preferred.

Desired Skills: Arcmap/ArcGIS proficiency, environmental studies especially related to wildfire, MS Excel competent, Map and Graphic Development for public display.
Work Schedule: Work hours are expected to be 32-hours per week or less. An 8-hour work day on Monday is generally required but other workday/work hours are flexible within the Monday-Friday work week, 7:30 AM to 6 PM agency work hours.
