Proposal Information

Description:

The NYSDEC Division of Water's Lake Monitoring and Assessment Section (LMAS) conducts a variety of programs to monitor, assess and report on the condition of New York's waters. The LMAS intern would assist in the preparation of data, maps, and other information to support water quality monitoring reporting conducted by the NYSDEC Division of Water. This would include, but not be limited to, uploading laboratory and field data into the DEC Lakes database, converting hand-drawn maps into data files, preparing tables and maps for public reports, merging database outputs into word processing documents, and manipulating data tables within relational databases and spreadsheets.

The successful candidate should have experience with entering data into Microsoft Excel or relational databases, and experience with GIS software. Additional desired skills include familiarity with other Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, and other general office skills
