Description:
The New York State Office of Children and Family Services promotes quality child welfare services and good case practice along with services to children, youth and families in the New York City region. This is done through partnerships, oversight, monitoring, supervision, technical assistance and resources in order to expeditiously advance positive changes in the lives of children and families.
DUTIES:
*Conduct necessary research daily for projects that require information and/or interpretation such as regulations and policies.
*Assist with NYTD project which consists of helping organize quarterly meetings, manage liaisons contact list and keep liaisons informed of new information via emails and phone calls. Create presentations and organize presentations for meetings, research other states strategies, help come up with new ideas to meet our numbers.
*Help manage the timeliness of completion of overdue significant incidents/Corrective Action Plan (CAPs) and upcoming significant incidents. Utilizing Outlook to organize upcoming assignments for significant incidents and CAPs for unit supervisors, program representatives and business analysts.
*Conduct database research and provide relevant child welfare data to staff to support technical assistance tasks for foster care and adoption agencies.
*Assist the secretary with the Permanency Unit (over 30 staff members) with office management duties. This consists of preparing and planning for scheduled assignments, working on special projects, supply inventory and ordering.
*Create extensive PowerPoint presentations for agencies Permanency Round Tables.
*Conduct visits to various foster care and adoption agencies to assist with policy training.
*Help organize special events to support staff morale and team building in office.
*Create and maintain efficient workflow processes for staff regarding retrieving data from agencies.
*Attend trainings, seminars and conferences about child welfare topics in New York State.
*Provide support when needed to the Regional Director's phone line and complaint line, Reception Desk and Permanency Unit's Administrative Assistant, other duties as assigned.
