Proposal Information

Description:

As a legal intern you will be assigned to our Legal Affairs Division. Requires a 2-year commitment. Incumbent would work 12-15
hours per week during the school year and full time during breaks and the summer. Work directly with Records Access Officer providing timely responses to Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests and appeals. Provide support to Legal Asst 2 with Medical Provider Discipline, Health Insurance Match Program(HIMP) as well as legal research and writing necessary to address issues raised within the agency. Prepare preliminary analysis and memoranda for attorney review. Gather and create materials and legal summaries in preparation of suspension, revocation, reinstatement, and reconsideration documents, including letters, notices, interrogatories, affidavits, motions, Subject Numbers, and intra-agency correspondence. Responsible for maintaining the agency law library by updating legal publications as necessary. May also be involved in special legal projects concerning the application of Workers' Compensation Law pertinent to this agency.
