Description:
This internship position will be in Division of the Budget (DOB) Business Solutions, which is part of the Administrative and General Services Cluster. The position is with a team of IT specialists responsible for the analysis and support (non-programming) of DOB applications. Work will be performed under the direction of experienced staff. The duties of this position will include the following:
- Performing tasks to support and enhance DOB applications;
- Testing Microsoft Office Suite, application software and database upgrades including the execution of test plans;
- Documenting business requirements for changes to existing applications and new applications;
- Documenting and resolving application issues;
- Performing data verifications and maintaining control tables;
- Resolving incidents in a timely and professional manner; and
- Creating work tickets for code changes and testing work tickets.
Desired Skills:
Applicants should possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong written and oral communication abilities. In addition, applicant should be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word. Experience in SharePoint and IT-related course work is a plus.
* Must be a US Citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States.
* Must be 18 years of age or older.
* Must be currently attending a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State.
* Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year College or University (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students); or a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program.
* Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or equivalent to a C.
Preferred qualifications:
* Sophomore level college student, minimum sophomore.
* Major Information Technology, Business Administration or Mathematics.
Some positions may require fingerprinting.
