Description:
The Summer Law Clerk will assist Counsel in implementing Governor Cuomo's Liberty Defense Project, which aims to ensure that immigrants across New York State have legal representation, receive due process, and have their rights adequately protected in deportation proceedings, asylum claims, and other matters. To this end, the Law Clerk will assist in building a state-wide network of corporate and nonprofit attorneys committed to immigrants' rights, help organize trainings for lawyers, and help conduct know your rights presentations for immigrant groups. The Law Clerk will help recruit lawyers across the state, have significant outreach responsibilities, and will work with foundations and with nonprofit and law firm partners as part of the State Government team implementing the Liberty Defense Project.
9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, in New York City Office.
