Description:
The NYSDOH, Office of Public Health Practice is continuing its efforts related to climate change and health, through the Climate Ready Cities and States Initiative (CRCSI). The graduate student will work to support these efforts until the end of the summer 2017 with the potential to continue past the summer semester. The selected graduate student will assist in qualitative and quantitative analyses of climate related data, writing reports and scientific papers, evaluating climate related literature, and developing presentations. Additionally, the student will be assigned to a number of climate specific projects including:
* Completion of an evaluation of the impacts of extreme weather in NYS
* Evaluation of potential climate change impacts and health adaptation interventions for development of proposals to pilot test them with local health departments
* Development of a plan for climate and health workforce development and outreach and education
