Proposal Information

Description:

Working closely with the agency communications department and the WebNY Site Builders teams, the intern will organize, update and migrate the agency website information to the new Drupal 8 Distribution instance. Create, update, and maintain Responsive Web Sites in a content management system.

* Work with Content leads to complete website audits, utilize content strategy, and assist in stakeholder interviews.
* Develop recommendation for information architecture, navigational structures and user flows
* Participate in content development and rewrites
* Provide weekly project status updates to project team
* Assist in the development of information architecture of website redesign working with the agency, the NY.Gov Digital team and the WebNY Site Builders teams.
* Work closely with agency program areas to identify content for new website development
* Train and educate program areas on how to write for the web and update the agency website
* Be an advocate for best digital, web design and content practices
* Conduct QA testing, follow-up to resolve issues, and load finished material into content management system
* Create, update, and maintain content management system websites.
* Create, update, and maintain website using JavaScript, HTML and CSS

-- Have basic graphic design and user experience understanding
-- Apply customer service approach to web, social media and online interfaces

Competitive Salary:
Undergraduate: $18.92/hour
Graduate: $21.23/hour

Eligibility Requirements:

Each opportunity has unique requirements, but all interested candidates must be:
-- a US Citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
-- 18 years of age or older
-- Currently attending a New York State college, university, or graduate program or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State.
-- a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year College or University (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students for participation in the Student Intern Program); or a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
-- have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
-- Preferred degree enrollment and/or skills outlined within the individual opportunities
