The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) would like to hire paid Student Assistant/Interns in it's Quality Management Center (QMC) in Albany, NY. The Human Services Cluster is responsible for managing information technology for applications supporting New York State's core human services elibibility and benefit issuance programs. The paid Student Assistant will report to the Business Systems Analyst 2 of the (QMC) and work closely with the testing and monitoring team. Aspects of overall application quality include Functional Application Testing and Automated Testing. The Student Assistant will learn the concepts of testing and be able to actually create and record testing scripts, Application Load Testing, automated load testing scenarios, and script theory and creation. Not only will the creation of scripts be addressed, the Student Assistant will also learn how to test and correlate test results with performance monitoring, and Application Performance Monitoring to evaluate the performance of the individual applications. The Student Assistant will work with the QMC Team to implement, monitor, evaluate results and troubleshoot issues in Technologies including: Windows, Linux, ASP.Net, JBOSS, infrastructure and Oracle. Application Release Management works with the release teams to protect our users from inadequate releases possible. The Student Assistant will work with the QMC and other cluster Teams to learn best practices and risk management. Available hours are Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm, up to 37.5 hours per week.
