The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) would like to hire 4 paid Student Assistant positions for the Dept. of Labor (DOL) Quality Management Center (QMC) in Albany. The Human Services Cluster is responsible for managing information technology for applications supporting New York State's core human services eligibility and benefit issuance programs. The paid Student Assistants will report to the DOL QMC Testing Team and work closely with this team. Aspects of overall application quality including testing scripts, Application Load Testing, automated load testing scenarios, script theory and creation. Not only will the creation of scripts be addressed, the Student Assistants will learn how to test and correlate test results to be able to evaluate the performance of the individual applications. The Student Assistants will work with the QMC team to implement, monitor, evaluate results and troubleshoot issues in technologies including: Windows, Linux, ASP.Net, JBOSS, infrastructure and Oracle. Application Release Management works with the release teams to protect our users from inadequate releases as much as possible. The Student Assistants will work with all teams to learn best practices and improve risk management. QMC is assisting the Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), NYS Education Dept., Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and the Office of Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). Available hours are Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm, up to 37.5 hours per week.
