Proposal Information

Description:

Create ArcGIS shapefiles, perform geoprocessing, spatial analysis and data management functions, and assist with development of geodatabases to support the division's development of clean water plans. Intern will create project specific shapefiles, support work on the Long Island Nitrogen Action Plan, and assist with other Division priorities. This position will provide an opportunity to learn about many of the Division of Waters programs including: watershed management, water quality assessment, and Long Island nitrogen management.

Deliverables, as determined by project needs:
* Maps for presentations and publications
* Creation of project specific shapefiles
* Analysis of environmental data
* Data factsheets for watersheds
* Development of project specific geodatabases

These deliverables will be used by Bureau of Water Resource Management (BWRM) to support the division's development of clean water plans. GIS intern will be supervised by BWRM staff.
