Proposal Information

Description:

Unpaid legal internship opportunity in the Board's Albany office for a law student interested in labor and employment law. The candidate should be studying and have a serious desire to practice labor & employment law or be otherwise involved in labor-management relations, public administration and/or human resources. A successful applicant will be expected to conduct research and prepare memoranda addressing questions presented in ongoing agency matters. The intern will interface with professional staff handling issues involving questions concerning representation, improper practices, unfair labor practices, collective bargaining and conciliation. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to observe PERB proceedings, such as settlement conferences, formal hearings, mediation and arbitration sessions.

Agency hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and a mutually agreed upon schedule will be established during the interview process.
