Legal interns at DEC's Office of General Counsel in Albany, New York will provide important support to NYSDEC attorneys by, among other things, organizing discovery documents for enforcement cases and permit hearings; drafting legal papers such as orders on consent, and administrative pleadings and motions; attending Pre-Hearing Conferences in enforcement cases, internal meetings, and meetings with external entities; and generating letters to respondents or permittees. Legal interns also conduct extensive legal research using online resources and assorted treatises and draft memoranda of law.

Number of Hours:
For Albany Law School Field Placements: approximately 12 hours per week. For students from other schools: up to 30 or more (flexible).
