Description:
Research, design, and develop the agency's communications style guide. The style guide will establish and enforce styles to improve communication and ensure consistency within documents and across multiple documents, enforcing best practice in usage and in language composition, visual composition, and typography. The intern will research how style guides are used within federal, state, and local government as well as within private entities that provide similar services to ITS. The intern will reach out to ITS business units to perform a needs assessment, then recommend a table of contents and outline for the style guide. After approval of the outline, the intern will work with the Marketing and Communications Office as well as other ITS business units to draft the style guide, including developing consistent standards, templates, and approval processes that will be used throughout the agency. The intern will also develop a communications campaign to "advertise" the new ITS style guide and assess its use. The intern will also act as back-up for other functions within the Marketing and Communications Office such as drafting/issuing communications and updating content on websites, event coordination, and AV production. This intern may also have the opportunity to learn other marketing and communication skills such as videography, photography, visual design, etc.
