Proposal Information

Description:

Assist the Bureau of Public Awareness & Prevention with tasks related to the preparation and implementation of the annual statewide "Shine the Light on Domestic Violence" campaign including:
Reguarly updating OPDV's statewide participant spreadsheet.
Doing outreach by phone and email to answer questions and provide information to past and potential participants about the website toolkit items, public awareness materials and other campaign resources.
Posting and captioning campaign photos from participants around the state to our agency Facebook and Twitter accounts and saving all incoming photographs.
Other projects, as needed, such as assisting with new campaign publications and/or public awareness products.
The "Shine the Light on Domestic Violence" campaign, which is entering its 9th year, is a high-energy, month long event (October) that requires a great deal of preparation and post-campaign follow-up, as well as attention to detail and excellent multitasking and time management skills. In addition to the basic essential skills of this position, an intern who is genuinely curious, outgoing, and eager to learn and to share his/her ideas and insights would not only be a tremendous asset to OPDV, but would benefit greatly from the variety of tasks and roles he/she would be asked to fulfill. The intern should be assertive, self-motivated and a good written and verbal communicator. Ability to do graphic design using Microsoft Publisher or Adobe InDesign is a plus, as is having some experience with Excel. Hours are flexible.
