Description:

The Department of Civil Service is looking for a dependable and talented student who is proficient in both graphic and web design to develop various printed and electronic products. Duties will include but not limited to:

* Conceptualize, design and create graphics to communicate messages for various audiences in print and electronic media.
* Consult with and advise staff, and develop design and layout, using various tools, to produce communications products.
* Research themes and ideas for the subject of illustrations.
* Develop ideas and concepts, and produce samples for staff's review.
* Design creative products that are consistent with the communications channels to be used and will invoke the desired audience behavior and response.
* Review final designs with staff and make needed improvements.
* Using various tools, produce still and animated graphics for print and electronic media. Create illustrations for websites, banners, newsletters, magazines, flyers, etc. by applying design fundamentals such as color, space, layout, and typography.
* Design webpages and maintain content.

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Dreamweaver preferred.

Schedule is flexible and compensation is negotiable. Work location is Empire State Plaza in Albany.
