Description:
Mid Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center (MHFPC) is a secure facility operated by the NYS Office of Mental Health that provides comprehensive forensic mental health services using evidence-based practices for the restoration of competency and both the assessment and treatment of persons with dangerous mental illness. Recovery and hope are promoted through the efforts of the interdisciplinary treatment teams within a safe, secure and therapeutic environment in which freedom from violence and coercion is a guiding principle.
Social Work Internships at MHFPC are open to second-year Master in Social Work (MSW) students. Interns will participate in group and individual therapy and multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings; and complete psychosocial assessments, progress notes, and treatment plan reviews.
