Proposal Information

Description:

The DOH Operations Management Group (OMG) is responsible for management of aspects of the agency's space, mail & supply, fleet vehicles, forms, surplus property, records storage, and tenant safety. To effect this, OMG utilizes policy and procedure manual items, as well as an intranet page. The intern will be responsible for assisting with review and update of these tools. The initial assignment will include review of all applicable Administrative Policy & Procedure Manual (APPM) Items and OMGweb intranet pages. Following initial review, the intern would meet with various OMG staff to review material and to take notes on recommended updates and changes. The intern would then be assigned to draft revised APPM Items and OMGweb pages, for review by OMG, and possible additional edits.
OMG core office hours are 8:30-4:45pm, M-F. The intern would be assigned to work within those parameters, with flexibility to meet his/her academic schedule. It is estimated that the Internship will entail 10-19 hours per week for 1-semester.
The intern will be assigned to an available work station, and will be granted access to a computer to be used to access electronic copies of APPM items and OMGweb pages, as well as to edit/draft narrative in MS Word. Typical work duties will include reading materials, meeting with staff and taking notes, and drafting/editing text in MS Word.
