Description:
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Working with permitting staff, law enforcement and environmental policy professionals on environmental concerns in NYC.
- Help develop policy materials and attend stakeholder meetings.
- Learn about Environmental Justice concerns in NYC.
- Learn about existing compliance inspections.
- Observe the enforcement of environmental laws with uniformed officers and criminal investigation staff.
- Review and update existing community database.
All of our interns will also have the opportunity to attend educational seminars and field trips to key environmental sites around NYC. We work with city, federal and private partners throughout the summer and provide networking opportunities for young environmental professionals. Students can work remotely and will be expected to work in our Long Island City, Queens office at least part time.
